I’m Shona, the mum behind Mother Proserpine.
I’m an astrologer, tarot reader,
and paradoxically,
an objector to ill-considered spiritual nonsense.
The wisest of the Romans observed the power of astrology and the visionaries of the Italian Renaissance crafted the full archetypal deck of the tarot. As a historian, I am interested in what these mighty people of the past saw in these systems and I become more convinced with each passing day that they were accurate in the conclusions they arrived at.
And so, here I am: a modern woman with ancient tools.

Firstly, because I love it and I don’t think about anything else.
And secondly, because I’m a stay-at-home mum that spends all of my time with my glorious daughters, Amity and Magenta. I wouldn’t have life any other way but times are hard and our little family is a lot of financial strain for Father Proserpine to shoulder alone.
